During your first session, we will go over your intake paperwork, review some basic personal history, and what has brought you into counseling. It is an opportunity to ask me questions as well. Together we will decide if it feels right to move forward in a therapeutic relationship and schedule the next session.

This is something that is mutually agreed upon. Each case is unique and part of this will be dependent on your progress and goals. Generally, clients are seen 2 to 4 times per month to start. Length of time differs from person to person, but can be discussed during the initial session and revisited subsequently as deemed appropriate.

The professional relationship you have with your therapist is very important. You need to feel comfortable and confident that they are the right person to be supporting you in life's challenges. Please utilize the free 15-minute phone consultation offered to help you decide if a clinician is the right person for you. If at any point you decide it’s not a good fit, we are happy to try and provide additional referrals for other clinicians that might be better able to help you.

Everything we talk about is completely confidential with three exceptions. Clinicians must break confidentiality if someone is an immediate danger to themselves or others, if there is a suspicion of child or elder abuse, or in the event of a court subpoena.
